25 years in business, now under new ownership. The sausage and shrimp jambalaya was very good, the chicken parmesan was good, needing more sauce. Very reasonably priced. I'll be back; it can be a challenge taking over a well established business. Wishing them great success.

Decided to come here after the waffle house was packed coming back from the upper room chapel. Not disappointed with our decision at all. The place was nearly empty and very nice. Terri served us and we had a good chat with her. Top notch service!!! The menu changes, to keep things fresh. I had the Mahi and it was a winner. Location is convenient. So far, 5/5 places I've been to here in Charlotte have been above my expectations.

If you haven’t given Johns a chance you ought to. As you can see by the pictures I’ve been here a few times. I stopped in today (1/7/22) and had the prime rib sandwich. It was damn good 🔥🔥🔥 Food is always delicious. It is Southern comfort food. It just hits your soul with each bite. Gotta order the daily specials. Yes it changes everyday. So you gotta check ‘em out everyday. You can order online and you can find the specials online too.

Very nice family restaurant. Serving great American food. Our group of 16 was attended to very nicely by staff. And we sampled a good portion of the moderately extensive menu. Food was very good, service great. Definitely worth a visit. Meals were very good for price so a great value. Enjoy.

John's Family Restaurant is a cozy little homey place full of character and personality, and of course, great food.
I'm in Charlotte for work and don't know the area so I found this place in Google Maps and figured I'd give it a shot.
From when we first came in, my colleague and I were warmly greeted by our waitress and led into a very simple dining room that felt like a family run business should.
THE FOOD:
To start us off, we got free bowls of vegetable soup which was delicious and a welcome start to our meal.
Our waitress was a sweet older lady who was super nice and had such a great personality. Her jokes and quips were well needed after a long work day.
I had the sliced roast beef and gravy which was fall off my fork tender and just the perfect amount of saltiness. It was definitely one of the better roast beefs I've had and truly filled my heart and stomach with comfort
My colleague had the fried chicken which took longer to cook (they warned us before so we were prepared) but it looked handmade and from what I heard, tasted handmade as well.
For our sides, we had mashed potatoes, which I didn't care for as much, but I'm more of a creamy mashed potato guy so that's just personal preference, and banana pudding. I'm not a huge banana pudding fan but it sounded good and my God it was. It was deliciously sweet and full of flavor. It tasted homemade and I finished it off happily, which is much more than I can say for many banana puddings.
You checkout up front and the cashier lady was a very nice Greek lady who very well could've been one of the owners with her smile and cheer. She said that fried chicken was her first meal coming over from Greece and it was nice talking to her.
Definitely coming back here next time I'm in town. Easy 5/5 stars
