We’ve been loyal customers of La Unica for a long time. Tonight, we ordered takeout for the first time in a while. I’m extremely disappointed with the portion size of the sides of rice. I paid for two sides of rice and they are not even half full. I normally don’t leave reviews for stuff like this but, it’s a pretty pathetic amount for the price. We will not be ordering from them again.

Finally tried La Unica Mexican a few weeks ago. The restaurant is visible from 77, accessible off Sam Furr.
After trying I wasn’t really excited to do this review. My husband and I both felt the Mexican food was okay. You can’t help but compare with other Mexican restaurants. For example,
we were the guests of Rio 150 in Mooresville, a few months ago and felt the Mexican flavors were just more distinct-delicious at that location. Perhaps it was what we ordered on our first visit to La Unica. Not sure.
The service was quite good though. The staff is quick to respond with napkins or whatever else you need and to make sure guests have a nice experience.
Perhaps if we try something else, we may feel different. Don’t let this review dissuade away-Give them a try.
Love that they offer the Mexican Coke!
We may be back to see if some other dishes off the menu will be more tasty.

Worst ACP I’ve had because they prioritize way too much lettuce. I don’t eat lettuce, but even if I did, over half this dish was lettuce and really hard to get off the rest of the meal. Wish they had an option to customize it online. It also seems like the ACP is more set up like fajitas than anything else. It’s served with 3 tortillas and has peppers in it, lettuce, guac, etc like you’re really building something with the tortillas. I’m a simple girl. ACP to me is rice, chicken, and queso. Also, the queso was extra $2. Otherwise it just comes with melted cheese on top. Will go elsewhere to get ACP. 😔

I’ve come to this restaurant a few times before but this past Sunday was not a good experience. Our waiter was not attentive and helpful. We had to ask other employees for him to come to take our order. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. I ordered the Tejano fajitas with chicken, steak and shrimp, the food was ok, nothing special like other places I have eaten before…the plate was served with corn tortillas, rice and beans. I ordered a small guac side not a dip and they charged me at the bill like a dip. I’m glad I noticed that and fixed it. The waiter did not check on us after we got our food but we had to call for him a couple times when we needed it. I wanted to order a Margarita and dessert but I was so disappointed with the service that I ended up not ordering anything else. I probably won’t be coming back to this location.

Food and service were good! Price for 2 meals $40. I would definitely go again. I wouldn’t say it’s my most favorite Mexican restaurant, but if you want good tasting, good size portions of food and fast service with a laid back atmosphere that is inexpensive… this is your place. Salsa was the only thing I would say wasn’t that great. Go early if you don’t care for crowds fills up by 6pm.
