Used to come here years ago for breakfast. Had to get lunch since we came in after 11AM. I got the calabash shrimp meal and my mom got the liver. Enjoyed the complimentary chicken soup they bring before your meal. Waitress was very sweet and helpful. The mac and cheese was not very good and the corn bread was ok. Prices are reasonable. I’ll likely come back only during breakfast next time.

The restaurant is clean and the staff are all attentive and helpful. The free and surprising appetizer is a delicious cup of chicken and rice soup. The catfish was OK, but I would have preferred it blackened instead of fried. The rice and fried okra were very good. If I lived in Charlotte, I would eat here once a week.

Food is fast and fresh. I usually go for breakfast but this time I went for lunch. The smoke sausage, baked Mac and cheese, and cornbread were my favorite.
